CLASSIFIED STAFF OF THE YEAR- MANNY ZAMORA

Outstanding Classified Employee Manny Zamora

Campus monitor named Classified Employee of the Year

Manny ZamoraA campus monitor who works at Jefferson High School was named the Classified Employee of the Year at the Greeley -Evans Schools District 6 Board of Education meeting Monday night.

“I love working for District 6. I have for 20 years,” said Manny Zamora. “I have been able to play a part to push our students through when they don’t feel like they have a chance. To see them cross that stage at graduation, that is my paycheck.”

The Classified Employee of the Year honor is given by the District 6 Classified Council, which represents support staff throughout the school year. This year, the Council received 130 nominations for the honor, and Zamora received more than 15 nominations.

Classified Council President Sasha Cohoon, the office manager at Greeley West High School, read from some of the nominations submitted on behalf of Zamora.

“This person exemplifies the mission and vision of the district to the highest standards,” Cohoon read. “He is always willing to jump in to help staff and students. He works diligently to keep the halls safe while working to create good relationships with students and staff.”

Cohoon recognized four other staff members who were in the top five picks for Classified Employee of the Year: Abby Massey, office manager at Franklin Middle School; Amy Wahlmeier, special education assistant at Northridge High School; Maria Ramirez, secretary at District 6 Online Academy and Martin Silveyra, who works in Facilities.
